This weekend we went to Vinci’s Caffe & Gallery for lunch. It’s located near Olympic Village on 3rd Ave and Columbia in Vancouver. Vinci’s is run by a mother-daughter team and has a very “hyggelig” (Danish interpretation of Cozy) feel to it. It’s like a home away from home.
Inspired by Italy, the food is simple but delicious. We had a mix of potato salad, vegetables, and ravioli as well as the vegetable curry soup. The coffee was really good as well which reminded us our honeymoon in Italy. This is also where we got our inspiration to write the Italian chapter in our 2nd cookbook “Three Weddings and a Honeymoon.”
We especially liked the chocolate cake at the end of our lunch. The cake disappeared from the plate so fast that we forgot to take a picture of it! Sorry!
As the title implies, the cafe is also a gallery. Most of the pictures are made by Sandra Forzani, the mother of the team.
If you’re around the area we recommend going to Vinci’s for a cozy and relaxing experience with good food and coffee.
-Enjoy.
